Kindling Legacy: How Men and Boys Passed the Fire at This Year’s Retreat

Passing The Fire Retreat – October 4–5, 2025

Location: Crossroads Camp | Participants: ~50 Men & Boys

This year’s Passing The Fire retreat was a powerful and unforgettable weekend as approximately 50 men and boys gathered high on the mountain at Crossroads Camp for a time of connection, challenge, and spiritual renewal.

The retreat centered around the theme of “Passing the Fire to the Next Generation,” emphasizing the importance of generational discipleship, mentorship, and legacy.

Throughout the weekend, attendees participated in engaging breakout sessions including:

  • Primitive Fire Building – learning survival skills and spiritual parallels about igniting faith

  • Archery – focusing on aim, discipline, and spiritual direction

  • Rock Climbing – building trust, courage, and perseverance

Meals were a highlight, with smoked meats served for both lunch and dinner, offering time for conversation, laughter, and brotherhood. Saturday evening was capped with a memorable campfire where stories were shared, prayers were lifted, and hearts were stirred.

We were honored to have Danny Quirin from Mill Creek Baptist as our main speaker on Saturday, delivering a powerful message that challenged and encouraged everyone present. On Sunday morning, Kenny Daniel shared a heartfelt closing message that brought the weekend full circle, reinforcing our calling as men to lead and pass on our faith.

A closing survey revealed an overwhelmingly positive response — 100% of attendees expressed a desire to return next year.

This was more than a retreat — it was a sacred time of growth, bonding, and spiritual fire being passed from one generation to the next.
