BREAKOUTS
Music (Breakouts I and II)
Gina Stukes | Dogwood Auditorium
This breakout session explores the biblical and emotional foundation of music as therapy and recognizes how music influences healing and spiritual renewal. Participants will learn to apply simple music-based practices to enhance both church and personal experiences.
Engaging Younger Generations in the Mission of God (Breakouts I and II)
Hannah Smith | Dogwood Hall Lower Level – Rooms 11-13
Throughout scripture, we see numerous examples of raising up the next generation of leaders to fulfill God's mission. Join us for a thought-provoking conversation on engaging younger generations in the mission of God. Together, we’ll explore what makes younger generations unique, reasons why many young people are unengaged, and how the church can respond with creativity, authenticity, and purpose. This session will offer research-based understanding, practical insights, and fresh strategies for inspiring the next generation to live on mission.
Breaking the Rules: How We Defied Convention…and Won Hearts (Breakouts I, II, and III)
Cindy Walker & Hebron Baptist Women | Dogwood Hall Lower Level – Room 14
In our women's mission group, we found ourselves stuck in the "same old, same old,” programs that appealed largely to older generations, little energy from younger women, and attendance that flatlined. But what if we dared to break the mold? In this breakout, we will share how we intentionally flipped assumptions and rewrote the playbook. From reimagining meeting times and formats to partnering across generations and leaning into creative outreach, we'll show how we defied the "norm" and, in return, saw attendance soar, fresh voices rise, and deeper engagement from our younger women. Bring your doubts, your dreams, and your rulebook. Together we'll trade fear for faith, tradition for transformation, and status quo for a movement of women on mission.
Bringing Hope to Students and Leaders in Uganda: HopeAlive! Short Term Mission (Breakouts I, II, and III)
Winnie Tan Wang & Marion Clark | Dogwood Hall Lower Level – Room 15
What does the hope of Jesus look like in action? This summer, a team of twelve witnessed it firsthand in Uganda. Join us for an inspiring breakout session of testimony from a short-term mission trip with HopeAlive!, an organization committed to providing education assistance and economic opportunities in Jesus' name. You will hear incredible, personal stories of God's profound love and faithfulness. This isn't just a report; it's a celebration of how hope in Jesus Christ is transforming lives and empowering Ugandan students and leaders for a brighter future. Come and marvel at what God is doing!
The Power of “Yes…And…” (Breakouts I and II)
Sharon Condrey | Dogwood Hall Lower Level – Room 16
In this interactive session, we’ll explore the power of the simple phrase, “Yes…and…” as a tool for listening, affirming, and building bridges in our relationships. Through Scripture, group activities, and practical application, we’ll discover how this posture helps us connect across differences, engage in hard conversations with grace, and reflect Christ’s reconciling love in everyday life.
A Woman Empowered (Breakouts I and III)
Esther Shin | Dogwood Hall Lower Level – Room 17
This session seeks to empower women to embrace leadership that transforms lives, strengthens churches, and brings glory to God. You will learn practical strategies for leadership, time management, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring.
Stressed?!? Finding Calm in the Storm (Breakouts I, II, and III)
Rhonda Pedigo | Dogwood Hall Lower Level – Room 18
Are you struggling to find what causes stress in your everyday life? Come explore ways to manage the anxiety and frustration.
Craft: The Cross (Breakouts I and III)
Theresa Svoboda | Dogwood Hall Lower Level – Rooms 19-21 (back hallway)
This crafting session will be a time of devotion, fellowship, and an opportunity to let your creativity out. Make a beautiful reminder of God’s love: the Cross where it all began. Your cross will be made of burlap or ribbon, a frame or canvas. Add your own special touch as your creativity flows.
Embracing God’s Call: The Journey from GAs to Southeast Asia (Breakouts I, II, and III)
Melin | Children’s Building Upper Level – Room 38
In this time together, participants will reflect on what it means to consider God’s calling in their lives, the journey God leads us on (Cor. 2:14-16), and recognize the importance of encouraging, faithful women and mentors along the way. In particular, Melin will share of God’s call in her life, looking at what God is doing in SE Asia, and ways bridges of trust are being built to meet needs and share Christ.
Walking Alongside One Another (Breakouts I, II, and III)
Mary Alice Formo | Children’s Building Upper Level – Room 40
God places individuals in our life pathways who may have differing values, behaviors, mental health issues, addictions, and lifestyles from our own. These people may include friends, neighbors, co-workers, or even family members. How do we minister to these individuals while demonstrating God’s love and showing mercy and grace? The presenter will share some of her life experiences, especially serving as a community support person to one of her foster children for over 25 years. Practical suggestions for dealing with individuals needing dignity and support in their everyday lives will be shared, along with ideas for taking care of one’s own personal life by setting boundaries, discussing self-care tips, and maintaining and nurturing the wonderful creation of God that you have become.
I’m a Bridge? (Breakouts I, II, and III)
Beth Watson Ward | Children’s Building Upper Level – Room 41
Coming from a former missionary kid and pastor’s wife, this presentation is sure to be rich with WMU history. The presenter will be sharing about how the Lord has and can use us to connect with and encourage others to serve Christ. She will share about some individuals such as Lottie Moon and Cori Ten Boom who inspired her as a young woman.
Jesus: Our Bridge and Mediator (Breakouts I, II, and III)
Rhonda Luckie | Children’s Building Upper Level – Room 42
In a world of chaos and confusion, what does God’s word tell us about being the bridge to peace between God and other people? Looking at 1 Timothy 2:5, we will study and discuss how Jesus is our mediator. We will then seek to answer theologian Francis Shaeffer’s question, “How should we then live?”
